Fit4Kidz Gymnastics and Dance is owned by Mother and Daughter (Kathy Penders and Jessica Sorenson) who have shared a passion for gymnastics and dance for many years. The business was founded with a simple goal: to provide children with a fun, safe learning environment where kids could progress and grow their skills in gymnastics and dance. The center opened in the fall of 2007 in the historical Milford Main School building’s auditorium. We recently moved in June of 2015 to the new location in the Kroger Plaza (across from Kroger, beside PNC Bank, just north of where Route 28 and Route 50 meet (at 5 point) in downtown Milford.)
Fit4kidz strives to offer the best gymnastics and dance instruction possible to each child at their level. Gymnastics and dance and tumbling are sports that are based on progression; we start small and allow our athletes to succeed before raising the bar. Only when the basics are accomplished do we progress to more advanced skills. This helps to build up the children's confidence in both themselves (and their teachers) as well as to prevent injuries. One saying that we strongly discourage is “I can't do that”; we prefer: “I'll try”! Every child progresses at a different speed, and we are prepared to move at their pace by offering a wide variety of classes with different ability levels. A child learns to set goals and they know when they achieve them, it’s time to set their goal higher.
At Fit4Kidz, safety is our top priority. Every decision we make attempts to accentuate the physical, emotional and mental development of the athlete. We hope the gymnast has as much fun as possible while learning at the optimal level. We strive to challenge the gymnast as much as possible while still allowing the gymnast to continue to love the sport.
We believe that outstanding performance is achieved by the accumulation of skill and confidence in a progression. Gymnastics and dance is the best sport in the world to teach this discipline - a quality that will benefit a child in gymnastics and in life!
Our teaching priorities are safety, fun and skill acquisition. Our motto is “Family, Friends, Fun, and Fitness.”
